Orders & delivery terms 

ONLINE SALES 

All the pieces available from our online sales are available to buy now (unless otherwise stated) and can be delivered within 3-5 working days. 

 

CLIENT ORDERS 

All products that have been ordered from our suppliers will be processed by the supplier after 24 hours from your initial order with us. If you wish to cancel your order, please do so within 24 hours so we can issue a full refund on all monies received. Unfortunately, due to the manufacturing process, we cannot cancel an order after the initial 24 hours. Melynda Jayne cannot be held responsible for a supplier’s availability of a requested item. If a supplier has withdrawn the product, a full refund of monies received will be provided. 

  • Dress orders will be placed within 24 hours of payment being received unless otherwise directed from the client or designate 
  • Due to dye variations your dress/hat could vary slightly from the sample or swatch 
  • Colours from our suppliers could be discontinued or renamed without notice. We will invite the client or designate along to Melynda Jayne for a re-selection or a full refund will be provided 
  • An agreed deposit is required for the dress and/or accessories before the order is placed with the designer. ALL SALES ARE FINAL and no refunds will be issued 
  • The size that you order should be based on your largest measurement 
  • Alterations are not included in the price of the dress. Melynda Jayne will supply details of seamstresses we work with on request. Please note that your contract for alterations is then with the seamstress, who is not an employee of Melynda Jayne. We take no responsibility for any agreement with the seamstress. All clients are free to select a seamstress of their choosing 
  • Dresses must be paid for in full before being released for alterations 
  • Melynda Jayne Boutique reserves the right to cancel, refund or refuse any order 
  • We contact every client when the dress/accessories arrive 
  • Delivery dates are an ESTIMATE ONLY and subject to change at any time 
  • We do not offer shipping from our boutique (unless otherwise agreed). All orders must be picked up the customer or a designate 
  • The person collecting must inspect the dress BEFORE it leaves the boutique. We cannot control what happens to the dresses/accessories once they leave the store. Refunds will not be given on client orders 
  • We are happy to offer an exchange or credit note where possible, provided items are returned to Melynda Jayne within five days of receipt 
  • Bespoke millinery commissions cannot be refunded 
  • Sale stock cannot be refunded or exchanged 
  • Where a dress has been purchased over time on a payment plan, a refund will not be given 
  • All hats and head pieces are of the highest quality and each one is handmade to the customers own requirements. Copies of previous pieces will not be exact as all designs are handmade 
  • No goods can be removed from the premises until full payment has been made 
  • Melynda Jayne cannot be held responsible if information has been miscommunicated. Please check the information you provide to us carefully 
  • Customers have no cancellation rights on special orders 

 

Sizing 

Where a dress is ordered months in advance of delivery/wear date, it is vital the client considers any factors that may affect weight or shape. Melynda Jayne will not be able to correct size issues once a garment has been ordered/purchased. 

 

Events & occasions 

Melynda Jayne accepts no responsibility for any purchase made for a specific event or occasion. Where an event or occasion is cancelled, postponed or changed – Melynda Jayne is unable to offer any discounts or refunds and the customer must still pay in full once payment dates are reached and goods have arrived. The deposit will be forfeited seven days after the final payment date agreed at time of purchase/order unless a separate agreement has been made. 

  

Purchases requiring alteration 

Due to challenges with stock availability, you may decide to purchase an incorrectly sized garment in the knowledge that this will require either weight loss or alteration. Please note our refund policy still applies. We will not accept garments back outside our policy because alterations are later deemed too expensive or unachievable. Buyers purchase at their own risk unless otherwise stated on the contract. Goods will also not be accepted/returned when pinning marks are visible. 

 

Storage of items 

Melynda Jayne is fully insured against damage, fire and theft. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a like for like replacement should your item be damaged while in our possession. Customers whose items which have been damaged while in our care will be given the option of a full refund or to re-order the product if available.  

 

Communication 

Melynda Jayne will use the information you provide to contact you regarding your order. It is your responsibility to ensure the contact details we hold are correct so we can keep you informed on the progress of your order. This includes notifying Melynda Jayne of any changes to your contact details that occur between ordering and collecting goods. It is the customer’s responsibility to return the communications of Melynda Jayne by answering phone calls, text messages, emails or by any other means regarding their order or held item(s). 

 

Liability 

Should Melynda Jayne breach its obligations under this agreement, its liability is limited to any direct loss incurred by the customer arising from such breach. 

Any delivery dates given are estimates only.  

Melynda Jayne will NOT be liable for any breaches caused by circumstances outside its control, including, but not restricted to acts of God, war, riot, terrorism, pandemic, malicious damage, fire, flood or storm. 

 

Returns 

We take pride in the quality of our products and our policy is to ensure all products supplied reach you in perfect condition. If for any reason the product does not meet your expectations, we ​are happy to offer an exchange or credit notes where possible, if items are returned to Melynda Jayne within five days of receipt and meet our requirements as outlined below: 

  • Melynda Jayne will not be able to refund products that are made to order or customised  
  • All returns must be in perfect condition and complete with their original labels still attached  
  • We are unable to offer any exchanges or refunds on items that have been worn, marked, marked by pinning, damaged, or that are not in their undamaged original packaging 
  • Items to be returned to Melynda Jayne at your own cost 
  • To enable us to deal with your return request please email us within 24 hours of receipt 
  • We make every effort to ensure that the colours you see on your screen are as close a match as possible to the actual clothing/hats/headpieces. Unfortunately, every device is different and as such, discrepancies can occasionally occur. For this reason, we cannot guarantee exact colour matches on this website 
  • We do not offer cash refunds 

The above terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. 

 

Couture hats and headpieces 

Following the consultation and agreement of the initial design, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required. All hats and headpieces are of the highest quality and each one is handmade to the customer’s own requirements. For this reason, we are unable to accept returns or issue refunds on bespoke items once production has commenced.  

Dependent upon the complexity of the headpiece, please allow 6-8 weeks for production. The item may take longer during busy periods. We prioritise production based on dates of your event. Upon completion, full payment will be due before collection/delivery may take place. Orders taken are also subject to fabric and embellishment availability. Due to complexity on some millinery designs an exact price may not be possible, in this case a maximum price will be provided for your approval. If, for whatever reason, we are unable to provide a satisfactory solution regarding your millinery requirements, a full refund of your deposit will be provided. The Milliners word is final. 

 

Other 

​It is the customer’s responsibility to read these terms and conditions. 

By paying a deposit, all customers are acknowledging and accepting these terms and conditions. 

By paying a final payment, all customers are also acknowledging and accepting these terms and conditions.
