Order & Delivery Terms

All of the pieces available from our online shop are available to buy now (unless otherwise stated), and can be delivered within 3-5 working days. Should you require any design in a different colour, then it would take a minimum of 14 days for delivery. Please contact us for further details, and please appreciate that lead times will be longer in peak season.
We aim to dispatch items within 3-5 working days and send items next day guaranteed special delivery!
Hat boxes are not included within our £15 flat UK delivery charge. Please ensure you add a hatbox to your order if you would like one. The hatboxes can be found in the millinery and couture millinery shop.
For overseas shipping prices to the EU and Worldwide, please contact us.

Hats & Headpieces

New designs and one off exclusive headpieces are being added all the time; if you would like an appointment with our stylist or milliner face to face or online to discuss a bespoke creation then please contact us.
Following the consultation and agreement of the initial design, a non refundable 50% deposit is required.  All hats and headpieces are of the highest quality and each one is handmade to the customers own requirements. For this reason, we are unable to accept returns or issue refunds on bespoke items once production has commenced.  Dependent upon the complexity of the piece, your creation can take between 2-4 weeks to make.  Upon completion, the balance will be payable before collection/delivery may take place.


We take pride in the quality of our products and our policy is to ensure that all products supplied reach you in perfect condition. If for any reason the product does not meet your expectations, we are happy to offer an exchange or refund where possible, provided that items are returned to Melynda Jayne Boutique within 5 days of receipt and meet our requirements as outlined below:
We regret that we are unable to offer refunds on products that are made to order or customised.  All returns must be in perfect condition and complete with their original labels still attached.  We are unable to offer any exchanges or refunds on items that have been worn, marked or damaged, or that are not in their undamaged original packaging.  Items will be returned at your own cost, in order to help us deal with your return request please email us within 24hrs of receipt and we will send you a returns form; please complete the returns form in full and include it with the goods.
Of course, we make every effort to ensure that the colours you see on your screen are as close a match as possible to the actual clothing/hats/headpieces. Unfortunately every device is different and as such, discrepancies can occasionally occur. For this reason we cannot guarantee exact colour matches on this website.

Please note that we have no control of websites outside of our own domain, although Westcolt Surveyors does forbid websites to externally link to us without our permission first. If we externally link to another website within our main website content, blog pieces or recommendations, we are not responsible for this website’s protection and privacy for the user.

Always remember to be wary when submitting data to other websites, and ensure that you read the website’s data protection and privacy policies in full before disclosing any information.

Terms Of Sale

  • Dress orders will be placed within 24 hours of payment being received unless otherwise directed from the client or designate.
  • Due to dye variations your dress/hat could vary slightly from the sample or swatch
  • Colours from our suppliers could be discontinued or renamed without notice to us. We will invite the client or designate along to MJ boutique for a re-selection or a full-refund will be provided.
  • An agreed deposit is required for the dress and/or accessories before the order is placed with the designer. ALL SALES ARE FINAL and no refunds will be issued.
  • The size that you order should be based on your largest measurement.
  • Alterations are not included in the price of the dress. Fittings/Alterations can be held at Melynda Jayne Boutique with our recommended seasstress. Please note that your contract for alterations is then with thee seamstress who is not an employee of Melynda Jayne Boutique. We take no responsibility for that agreement. All clients are free too select a seamstress of their choosing.
  • Dresses must be paid for in full before being released for alterations.
  • Melynda Jayne Boutique reserves the right to cancel, refund or refuse any order.
  • We contact the client when the dress/accessories arrive.
  • Delivery dates are an ESTIMATE ONLY and subject to change at any time.
  • No shipping from our boutique (unless otherwise agreed). All orders must be picked up by yourself or a designate.
  • The person collecting must inspect the dress BEFORE it leaves the boutique. We cannot control what happens to the dresses/accessories once they leave the store.
  • Refunds will not be given on client orders.
  • Purchases made from stock may be returned and exchanged or a gift card given.
  • Bespoke millinery commissions cannot be refunded.
  • Sale stock cannot be refunded or exchanged.
  • Where a dress has been purchased over time on a payment plan, a refund will not be given.
  • All hats and head pieces are of the highest quality and each one is handmade to the customers own requirements.
    Copies of previous pieces will not be exact as all designer are handmade.
